Our Story
"Here Comes Mavo!" is an animated series for children about a curious Deaf girl who lives in a magical land. Every day there are new challenges, from learning to communicate her emotions to figuring out friendships. She stumbles into a world inside the roots of a Baobab tree, where the Gesturlings live, helping Mavo find ways to express herself.
High-Quality Learning Experience
TV is a powerful tool in bringing educational content to young children, introducing them to many new words and concepts. Deaf children are vastly left out of this experience as there is scant content in sign language on TV. We are here to change that. "Here Comes Mavo!" is developed by a team of experts in storytelling and language research to create the best kind of edutainment experience for all children.

Our goal with this project is to bridge experienced industry animators, storytellers, writers, and artists with Deaf animators, storytellers, writers, and artists to deliver the world's first animated TV series
with 3D signing characters.

What are 3D Signing Characters? (& more)
3D signing characters or 3D signing avatars are animated characters that use sign language in a 3D environment. The sign language data is built using motion capture technology.
